A Career Divorce is a way to upgrade your Quality of Life
We have a system in society that we feel obligated to follow. We are all pushed into a career or a job in order to earn a living. Everything has been mainstreamed in such a way, that we think there are no other choices out their but to work for a job or a career like everyone around us. But what if we are wrong and the system is not working for us any longer? What if the system is starting to work against us in a way that is keeping us from our happiness?
First we are taught that competition is healthy; how is it healthy, when the generation growing up is building a community by outdoing each other instead of cooperating? Competition feeds the ego and creates the illusion of superiority. On the other hand it also creates the defeatist attitude in people and the illusionary belief of unworthiness and failure. |
Everyone in the world has a unique set of talents; the combinations of the capabilities for each human being are unique to everyone in the world. If we have a system enhancing these different talents in people, instead of mainstreaming them into one box fits all; the contributions from all people will change the world from one extreme to the other.
Most people are starting to see how the system is not working to help humanity anymore, so why stay with it? You don’t have to wait for someone else to change it for you; change it for yourself by starting to think differently and do the things that give you the most excitement in life. It is important to realize that working for others is an enslaving mechanism to keep you from achieving happiness and being dependant on the system that they created. Most careers or jobs out there are dependent on a corporation, a company, or an organization for employment. So you build your life on the assumption that these companies are going to be around to hire you. This is number one mistake! |
|
You have based your entire life’s purpose to work for others who are on the assumption that they are superior to you. They dictate your time, your worth, and your qualifications. All of a sudden you become disempowered because you need this job to pay for all your living expenses. Now you are thinking that the only way out of this, is by either finding another job which will be and feel similar to this one, or wait till retirement to do all the things you love to do and by then it might be too late to build your dreams.
The system is less personal and more robotic, while each one of us has unique talents yearning to be explored. In order to see the damage this system has on a lot of people we must realize first how it is not serving us and who is it really serving! |
When you look at communities working together in harmony for the benefit of all people within it; the level of life qualities will become enhanced; people are happier, have a lot of time to do the things they like, while all decisions made are benefiting everyone in the community. If compared to a city that is more competitive, dehumanizing, and mainstreamed into conglomerate businesses; it becomes a dog eat dog world and every man/woman to him/ herself, while crime rate is high from the stressful atmosphere. Not only the quality of life is unhealthy, it is also competitive and abusive. There is no harmony between people; it desensitizes them towards each other and nature. It is the number one reason why not too many people care much about the environment anymore. Selfishness has become an unrecognized disease.
University students must think hard before getting themselves in debt for a career that will enslave them. Now a day, a plumber or an electrician may be making more than a doctor or an engineer. So much money is being poured into tuitions and student expenses, that by graduation the debt is high. They find themselves poorer than they started. The economy also dictates if they will find a job or not.
Governments and media keep on promoting jobs by industries and corporations as important to the economy, but who is really benefiting from the big profits that they make off of the minimum wage workers and the pitiful salaries that could not provide a decent lifestyle for most? The corporations get tax breaks, while the little people get heavily taxed!
The time has come to invest in people to become independent of the system. Divorce their career and break free from this enslaving cycle. Self employment or maybe a family business supported by a loving community is the way out of this. Any system without people’s support will eventually diminish.
